Draw it again!

This little piece started as a warm up  before getting down to do something else.
I've decided to make a quick little sketch where I'll tackle a pass on one of my earlier creations.
Rougly inspired by Wall-e, M0v - X came to be

 Original sketch of M0v - X

M0v - X was first devised to be the sidelick to the main character in my, now scrapped comic book project.
I still liked the main design, so I just thought to redo it. Applying some of my new knowledge and skills to an existing design, in order to make it a  finished piece. The way this went is so :

Process of redesigning my original idea.

As shown, there was a lot of tweaking, I generally like curving my lines a bit in my hard surface designs, for some added dynamics and adding more character to the design.

M0v - X , the end result.

I'm quite happy how it went down so far. I think I'll do more pieces like this.

The Horneye Series

I'm yet to find their use and story. I found them appealing for their weirdness. Initially, I wanted to make an illustration, a scene dominated by one weird figure, to capture the attention by the figure's peculiarity, and other elements leading the eye towards it. The illustration was to be titled The Weird Queen, but at one point I decided to change the design, or actually to see what the hell I wanted to represent my Weird Queen. So I got down to do some designing, and this was the first thing I got

Horneye Female (Originally - The Weird Queen)

Later, I got to draw her in pencil, somewhat defining her as a species, though I was a bit rusty at the time.
Horneye Female - sketches

So far I rally like the look of them, I'll keep on developing them.More full-body pieces will be forthcoming, hopefully.

Ancient warrior - making of :D

Here is a small exercise I've done today. I'm pretty happy with how this guy ended up looking.

Character Design - Ancient Warrior

Ancient Warrior - stages

And here's the initial sketch I've made while I was boozin'with my friends :D

Ancient Warrior - initial sketch

I was going for a hyperborean-type of an old warrior. I haven't bothered posing him or giving him a weapon. As you can see, the end result is a bit different. During painting, I've opted to reduce the detail, and change the armor design so it made more sense. A bit, at least. I still don't believe you could move in that :D
It's not the best of designs for modelling, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out in the end.
Now, onward to make me some actually useable character designs !

Wastelands are fun!

I've always liked the aesthetic of the wasteland. So here's my spin to it. This is a rare environment I've done.
I've also tried out a bit of speed painting. Glorious results are here :D
